Man jailed 20 years for killing friend in revenge attack

A REVENGE mission ended in murder after a man from Gokwe stabbed his friend all over his body with an okapi knife.
The now deceased had also stabbed the accused on the head and cheek.
In a statement on X, the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) said on 25 December at around 10pm Tafadzwa Tendereki the accused and the now deceased were at T-Stars Night Club when a misunderstanding arose between them.

The argument escalated and the now deceased stabbed Tendereki on the head and cheek.
Tendereki went home and returned with an okapi knife. He called the now deceased outside, under the pretext of showing him the injuries he had sustained from the earlier attack.
After walking a few metres from the night club Tendereki stabbed the now deceased with the okapi knife several times all over the body before fleeing the scene. A Police report was made leading to the arrest of Tendereki. He was convicted and sentenced to 20 years imprisonment.

The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe encourages members of the public to desist from violence and resolve their disputes amicably or seek third party mediation.
