Man jailed 22 years after stealing TV remote

A MAN was jailed for 22 years after he was caught stealing a TV remote from a block of flats.

Eric Bramwell was sentenced to serve at least half of his sentence after police caught him following a string of thefts.

The 35-year-old stole the remote from the communal area of an apartment building in Wheaton, Illinois, USA.He left behind a glove containing traces of his DNA at the scene on August 1, 2015.

Bramwell faced 30 years in prison because of his long criminal history, including alleged thefts from other apartment blocks in the area.

He was told he must serve at least half of his 22-year sentence, reports Breaking911.State attorney Robert Berlin told the Tribune: “Regardless of what was stolen, Mr Bramwell repeatedly thumbed his nose at the law.

“He took what he wanted, time and time again, and expected to avoid the consequences.

“That’s not how it works, as Mr Bramwell has now found out.”—Mirror Online
