A 45-YEAR-OLD from Chiendambuya, Inyathi was jailed 45 years for repeatedly raping a 12-year-old.
The man cannot be named to protect the identity of the victim.
He was convicted by the Rusape Regional Magistrate Court on three counts of rape which occurred at different times between January 2023 and July 2024.
In a statement on X, the National Prosecuting authority of Zimbabwe said this case highlights the devastating impact of child sexual abuse and the importance of holding perpetrators accountable.
