Man jailed for attacking cops

when he appeared before Mr Carrington Karidzagundi facing a charge of assault. He will serve eight months after Mr Karidzagundi conditionally suspended four months of the sentence for five years.
Prosecutor Mr Marvellous Chikomo said on February 7 this year Nyoni, who was drunk, went to Mashavire Business Centre where he caused trouble at one of the butcheries.
The shop owner then enlisted the services of the police who, in turn, sent two details Ishmael Rumatye and Phanuel Moyo to restore order.
Nyoni turned violent and attacked the police officers. He then pushed Rumatye to the ground and followed by tearing his police reflector jacket.
He forcibly took some handcuffs from Moyo which he later used to hit him on the forehead.
