Man jailed for smuggling bales of second-hand clothes

A 30-YEAR-OLD man was arrested for smuggling 10 bales of second-hand clothes and two bales of used shoes in Mutare.

In a statement on X, police said Descent Munarwo was searched in an Inter Africa bus at a security check at Hotsprings and the bales were discovered.

“Police in Mutare deployed on an operation No to Cross Border Crimes arrested Descent Munarwo (30) for smuggling along Mutare-Masvingo Road. The suspect’s arrest follows after the police had stopped and searched an Inter Africa bus at a security checkpoint at Hotsprings leading to the recovery of 10 bales of second-hand clothes and two bales of second-hand shoes,” read the statement
