A MAN from Jambezi who was caught having sex with a neighbour’s donkey has been sentenced to six months in jail for bestiality.
Malvin Ngwenya (23) from Sikumbi area under Chief Shana pleaded guilty to bestiality and told the magistrate that he did not know what got into him.
After the owner of the donkey saw him having sex with the donkey while completely naked, Ngwenya fled from the scene leaving his clothes behind.
Victoria Falls magistrate Ms Rangarirai Gakanje slapped Ngwenya with six months in jail but suspended two months for five years on condition of good behaviour.
Ngwenya will serve an effective four months behind bars. “I don’t know what got into me,” said Ngwenya.
Prosecuting, Mr Listen Nare said a naked Ngwenya was caught redhanded having sex with Mr Bernard’s Mlauzi’s donkey a fortnight ago.
Mr Mlauzi is Ngwenya’s neighbour.
“The accused was caught in the act by Mr Mlauzi who saw a torch light inside the kraal at around 8PM on Wednesday last week.
“On realising that he had been seen, Ngwenya jumped off the donkey and fled naked leaving all his clothes behind,” said the prosecutor.
The court heard that Ngwenya was identified through the clothes that he left as he fled.
A report was made to the police leading to his arrest.
