MAN JAILED TWENTY YEARS FOR RAPING 11-YEAR-OLD

A MUTORASHANGA man, who raped a Grade Three pupil after she had been sent to collect rice and sugar at his home, has been jailed for 20 years.

Kelvin Mureravanhu, 29, of Lone Cow Farm, Mutorashanga, was jailed by Chinhoyi Regional Magistrate Ignatius Mugova.

Prosecutor Mutsai Mollen Chitsiga told the court that on August 25, 2024, the schoolgirl was sent by her mother to collect sugar and rice from Mureravanhu’ s house.

She was in the company of a friend.

The court heard when they arrived at the house, Mureravanhu asked the schoolgirl to get inside the house but she refused.

He then dragged her into the house and ordered her friend to stay outside.

Mureravanhu closed the door and started showing her some pornographic films.

He started touching her back, removed her undergarments and raped the schoolgirl once.

He threatened to harm the schoolgirl if she ever told anyone about what had happened.

However, the schoolgirl told her mother and the case was reported to the police.
