Man killed as truck overturns

A MAN died and six others were injured when their pick-up truck overturned along the Plumtree-Madhlambudzi Road.

The accident occurred on Sunday at around 6AM when the seven people on board a Toyota Hilux truck, who are all related, were ferrying a sick relative to Plumtree District Hospital.

Police identified the now deceased as Saul Moyo, 54, from Mangubo area in Bulilima District.

Matabeleland South acting provincial police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Nkosilathi Sibanda said Moyo failed to negotiate a curve resulting in the vehicle veering off the road before overturning.

“The driver sustained severe injuries and died upon admission to the United Bulawayo Hospitals while the other injured people were rushed to Plumtree District Hospital,” he said.
