Blood on the dancefloor!
A fight over a hooker between two imbibers at Calvary bar in Kwekwe turned tragic when a rival suitor allegedly stabbed another to death with an Okapi knife.
The tragic incident happened last week on Saturday at around 8.40pm.
It is said Melody Ncube and the deceased, Ndabezihle Nkiwane, were having beer at Calvary Bar with Thembelihle Mlilo, a known sex worker in the area.
Nkiwane allegedly made advances towards Thembelihle offering to pay $8 for a one-night stand.
However, Ncube outbid Nkiwane and offered $15 for the same treat.
That sparked a fierce argument between the two men and they fought. Ncube pulled out his Okapi and stabbed Nkiwane thrice in the chest. A Good Samaritan administered first aid with no luck as Nkiwane bled to death.
Ncube fled the scene and has not been found since.
Midlands police spokesperson Inspector Joel Goko confirmed the incident.
a�?We are investigating a murder case whereby Melody Ncube of Tekwane village in Zhombe under Chief Malisa fought with the late Ndabezinhle Nkiwane of the same village and stabbed him to death.A� An identified woman tipped off the police,a�? he said.
Insp Goko said Ncube was still at large and appealed for anyone with information which may lead to the arrest of Ncube to contact Amaveni police station on 05522808 or officer in charge on 0552283.
