A 54-YEAR-OLD Marondera man was found dead at a religious shrine recently and police suspect he might have been murdered.
Mashonaland East assistant provincial police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Tendai Mwanza said investigations were in progress. He identified the deceased as Elliot Chiguni of 18 Takawira Street Peri Urban Yellow in Marondera. Assistant Inspector Mwanza said police suspected Chiguni could have been murdered because he was found with a deep cut in his head.

On December 24, 2013 Chiguni left home for prayers at the shrine but never returned. He was found dead at the shrine on December 28 by John Matenguri, who was on his way home from work. Matenguri reported the matter to Dombotombo police and they took Chiguni’s body to Marondera provincial hospital for post-mortem.

Asst Insp Mwanza appealed to anyone with information about the death to report to their nearest police station.
