Man killed by train at Chinhoyi railway station

An unidentified man died on Friday after being struck by a train at Chinhoyi railway station, the National Railways of Zimbabwe (NRZ) has said.

The accident occurred at 4.06PM according to a statement posted on the NRZ’s official social media platforms. The man, who had no identity documents, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have not yet established the circumstances leading to the incident.

“This is a worrying trend. We appeal to members of the public to exercise caution near railway lines to prevent such tragic incidents,” said the NRZ.

The latest fatality comes amid a series of recent accidents involving pedestrians on railway tracks.
