Man killed for stealing maize cob

A MAN was killed by a mob after he was found stealing maize cobs in a field.

In a statement, police said Gift Kamuripa (49) found the unidentified man stealing in his field.

The incident occurred on 5 April 2024 in Rugare, Harare.

“Police in Harare are investigating a case of murder which occurred on 05/04/24 at an open space in Rugare. A mob attacked a yet-to-be-identified man after he was found by Gift Kamuripa (49) stealing some maize cobs in his field. Police have since arrested Gift Kamuripa in connection with the case,” reads the statement.
