MAN KILLED FOR STEALING MAIZE COB

A SUSPECTED thief was beaten to death for stealing a maize cob from a National Foods employee’s field in Rugare.

The owner of the field, Gift Kamupira, and his accomplices – Sirivako Davison Kagwa, Stephen Albert Phiri and Barbra Kumadzi – are now facing with murder charges.

They were remanded in custody and were advised to approach the High Court for bail considerations.

The court heard that on April 5, the quartet teamed up and assaulted the now deceased, whose full particulars aren’t known, after they caught him stealing.

They allegedly assaulted him using fists, sticks and cables until he passed out and died
