A 25-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested in the Beatrice area after he allegedly fatally stabbed his father for branding him a thief over the weekend.

The incident occurred on Saturday when Takawira Providence Useni (25) allegedly fatally assaulted his father, Hussin Useni (49), all over the body with a knobkerrie before stabbing him once in the chest with a knife.

This followed an altercation in which the victim branded the suspect a thief and ordered him to vacate his place.
National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident.

In another case, police are investigating a murder case in which the body of Tawanda Zulu (35) was found lying on the ground with a deep cut on the back in Makomo Extension Area, Epworth on Saturday.

This comes as police are also investigating a murder case which occurred in Chegutu on Friday in which Sophia Makenzi (33) was allegedly stabbed in the lower abdomen with a sharp object by her husband, only identified as Peter Center.

The two, who had been living together for eight months, had a dispute over property sharing after divorce.
