A 22-year-old Harare man lost his recently imported vehicle while buying food in Highfield on Sunday.

Tendekai Katayi’s Mazda CX5, worth US$12 800, was stolen before it could be registered.

Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed the theft and urged motorists to always secure their vehicles.

“On August 20, between 8pm and 8.30pm, the man parked his vehicle at a fuel service station along Willowvale Road. He left keys in the ignition, with the engine running, and dashed into Chicken Inn to buy food.

“He came out of Chicken Inn to find his vehicle gone,” said Insp Chakanza.
