A HARARE man lost US$18 500 in a botched residential stand deal.

Steven Gandiwa (35) was duped by Polo Kauma of Ashdown Park sometime in March 2021 after deceiving him that he owned and was selling a residential stand in Tynwald.

Steven paid cash for the stand, and after developing it, one Keddy Mushangwe claimed ownership of the property.

Steven’s efforts to contact Polo were in vain as he was no longer reachable.

Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, said the house Steven built was demolished.

“Police are appealing for information that may lead to the arrest of the suspect (Polo) being sought for fraud involving a residential stand in Tynwald,” said Insp Chakanza.
