Man loses US$280 000 to thieves

A 39-YEAR-OLD Harare man lost US$280 000 cash to thieves who broke into his house in Madokero on Friday.

The money was stashed in a small bag which was in the wardrobe.

Police have since launched investigations into the case and no arrests have been made so far.

National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident.

“The Zimbabwe Republic Police is investigating a case of unlawful entry into premises and theft that occurred in Madokero, Harare, on May 30, 2025. A 39-year-old man lost US$280 000 in cash after an unknown suspect broke into his house and stole a small bag containing the money, which was in the wardrobe in his bedroom,” he said.
