A 77-YEAR-OLD woman from Bulawayo has been left without a front tooth after she was attacked by her 54-year-old employee for not paying him for a piece job.
Ndabezinhle Dube appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Enerst Muzembe facing a charge of assault. He pleaded guilty to the charge and was remanded to Friday for sentencing.
The court heard that on 12 April 2024 at around 10pm, Dube went to Hilda Grant’s house requesting his money after he had built her house. This led to a misunderstanding between Grant and Dube and Dube then hit the victim with a fist once on the face.
The victim was left with a swollen mouth and lost her front tooth, while Dube was assaulting the victim one of Grant’s employees, Fortune Phiri came and stopped Dube from further assaulting the victim.
The matter was then reported at ZRP Donnington and investigations were carried out leading to the arrest of the perpetrator. The victim was referred to the hospital for medical examination and a medical report was produced in court as evidence.
