A 30-year-old man, who offered his teenage aunt US$1 to have sex with her, has been been ordered to perform 210 hours of community service for incest.
The aunt will also serve the same punishment.
The duo, from Chimanimani, appeared before Mutare Magistrates’ Court charged with sexual intercourse within the prohibited degrees of relationships.
The magistrate sentenced them to 12 months in prison of which six months were suspended for five years on condition of good behaviour.
A further six months were suspended on condition that the two completes 210 hours of community service.
On an unknown date, in January this year, the first accused person got home and his aunt in the kitchen hut.
It was proved that he offered her US$1 to have sexual intercourse with him and she accepted.
The accused persons agreed not to disclose the matter to anyone.
According to the State, the two engaged in consensual sexual intercourse twice that evening, while the rest of the family was inside the main house, which is separate from the hut.
The matter only came to light when the aunt found out that she was pregnant.
