A HARARE man has offered US$30 for the maintenance of his 11-year-old child.
Proper Mavhura appeared at the Harare Civil Court on Friday after being dragged by his former wife, Winnet Matsika.
Prosper said he was a married man and he can maintain the child with US$30 because he has a lot on his plate.
“I am a married man and I can give her US$30,’’ said Prosper.
Winnet said US$80 would help her maintain her child.
“His offer was insufficient because the child’s needs are too expensive. His previous offer can’t even buy the child’s stationery.
“I want Prosper to assist with the school expenses and I will cater for the rest,” said Winnet.
Magistrate Ayanda Dlamini ordered Prosper to pay US$40 and the child’s school fees.
