Man rapes 12-year-old niece

A 48-YEAR-OLD Waterfalls man was arrested for allegedly raping his 12-year-old niece and threatening to kill her if she revealed the abuse.

Kudzanai Makumbu is alleged to have committed the offence at his house.

Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, said the girl was referred to Sally Mugabe Central Hospital for medical examination and treatment.

“Police are investigating a case involving a Waterfalls man accused of raping his sister’s daughter,” said Insp Chakanza.

“The victim was picked up from school around 4pm by the perpetrator and they proceeded to his house.  The accused is reported to have raped the minor using protection and threatened her not to say a word to anyone,” he said.

The victim sustained some injuries and informed her mother.

“The matter came to light after the complainant started feeling some pains and informed her mother leading to the arrest.”
