Man rapes brother’s daughter (4)

A MUTARE man (20) allegedly raped his brother’s four-year-old daughter recently.
Geldoff Nyazire of Mapaona Village, Chief Zimunya’s area allegedly sexually abused the juvenile once. Nyazire was not asked to plead when he appeared before Mutare magistrate, Mr Poterai Gwezhira facing rape charges and was remanded in custody to September 1.
Nyazire was advised to apply for bail at the High Court due to the seriousness of the offence.
Appearing for the State, Mr Fletcher Karombe, said: “The juvenile aged four stays with her mother at Toopera village, Chief Zimunya Mutare.
“On August 14, the juvenile’s mother left her playing with her sisters at the homestead while she proceeded to Maruru Grinding Mill. “Nyazire arrived at the homestead and took the juvenile to the nearest bush where he raped her once.
“He threatened to harm the juvenile if she revealed the matter to anyone and went away leaving the juvenile in the bush,” he said.
The juvenile later told her mother and a report was made to the police leading to Nyazire’s arrest.
