IN a shocking incident, a man who turned his two little daughters into sex slaves has been caged for 30 years.
The man who cannot be named for ethical reasons is from Mutoko. He started committing the crime in December last year until recently while he was based in Beitbridge.
The man divorced his wife late last year and since that time he has been staying with his two children aged 5 and 7 years while working at the border town.
According to National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) during the night the 35-year-old would rape his two daughters.
Early in the morning he would order them to sleep on the bed and took turns to sexually attack them before they left for school. The matter came to light after one of the daughters shared her ordeal with her friend who then informed her parent who is a counsellor.
After that investigations were carried out leading to the arrest of the vile man in Mutoko. He recently appeared for trial before a regional magistrate in Mutoko facing two counts. For each count, he was slapped with a 20-year jail sentence.
Five years on the first count were suspended on condition that he does not commit a similar offence within a period of five years, while another five years were suspended on condition of good behaviour. He will effectively serve 30 years in jail.
