A 24-YEAR-OLD man from Emthunzini in Bulawayo has been arraigned for rape.
The man cannot be named to protect the identity of the victim, appeared before the Bulawayo Western Commonage magistrate Mrs Sibongile Marondedze who remanded him in custody to November 1.
According to the State case presented by Ms Melisa Dube the accused committed the offence sometime in September this year, where he raped a juvenile (16).
Ms Dube told the court that the complainant and the accused were in a relationship.
“On the date unknown to the court the complainant went to the accused’s house and found him alone, he the dragged the complainant into his bedroom, closed the door and threatened to kill the complainant if she screamed” said Ms Dube.
The court heard that the accused removed the complainant’s clothes and had sex with her without her consent.
The matter come to light when the complainant confided in her aunt who told the complainant’s father leading to the arrest of the man.
The matter will continue on Friday.
