A woman who allegedly kidnapped her clothes supplier and then robbed him of US$2 000 cash and a cellphone worth US$1 300 appeared in court yesterday facing a robbery charge.

Millicent Tsitsi Chimonyo appeared before Harare magistrate Mr Dennis Mangosi who remanded her in custody pending her bail application.

Allegations are that on November 16 at corner Bank Street and Chinhoyi Street outside Gulf Complex, Mr Lecious Munashe Chipangura, who is in the business of selling baby wear and cosmetics, was called by Chimonyo and told to bring some goods for resale.

But as soon as he entered Chimonyo’s vehicle, Mr Chipangura realised that two men were with Chimonyo.

She drove away with Mr Chipangura inside the vehicle.

Along Simon Mazorodze Road, she drove off the highway, disembarked from the vehicle, and grabbed and squeezed Mr Chipangura’s groin while the two men searched his pockets and stole his iPhone 13 Pro Siella Blue worth US$1 300 and US$2 000 cash.

One of the men allegedly hit Mr Chipangura with a wheel spanner on the back of his head and the two men then flung their victim out of the vehicle.

The three fled from the scene, leaving Mr Chipangura stranded. The case was reported to the police leading to arrest of Chimonyo.
