A Kadoma-based man has proposed that the Government should cover the costs of obtaining DNA tests in maintenance cases that have paternity disputes.
Dr Believe Guta made this statement when he appeared before the Portfolio Committee on Justice, Legal, and Parliamentary Affairs this Tuesday.
He argued that the law is biased against men and his petition to Parliament seeks amendments to the Maintenance Act.
“The State should provide facilities for men to defend themselves, just like it does for post-mortems in murder cases or medical reports in rape cases,” he said.
