A MAN from Harare, Edward Chibvongodze, has approached the Civil Court seeking protection from his female boss, Shuvai Muchenje, whom he accuses of sexually and physically abusing him.
Chibvongodze claimed that Muchenje has been forcing him into having a sexual relationship with her.
He alleged that she had even attempted to undress in his presence.
“At first, I ignored her advances, but the situation has worsened,” said Chibvongodze. “Now, she comes to my house and harasses my wife, claiming she is in love with me.”
Chibvongodze also recounted an incident where Muchenje allegedly threatened to kill him if he resists her demands. He said she grabbed a knife and used it to intimidate him.
“After I resisted her demands, I was assaulted by unknown men. The following day, my boss came to my house shouting that my days were numbered if I continued to reject her,” he said.
Chibvongodze said his boss frequently makes inappropriate comments about his manhood, making him uncomfortable at work.
At times, he said she insults him publicly.
“My self-confidence is shattered,” Chibvongodze said. “My workmates mock me, calling me weak, and my marriage is now on the verge of collapse because of her behaviour. I’m afraid to quit my job because I might not be able to provide for my family.”
He pleaded with the court for protection, citing fear for his safety and the well-being of his family.
Chibvongodze was granted the protection order.
