A MUTARE man approached the courts last week praying for protection against his ex-wife who is threatening to end his new marriage.Edmore Nyamangodo dragged his former wife, Blessing Mandisekwe, whom he alleged was a thorn in his flesh. “I am seeking protection from my wife because she is threatening to cause havoc in my new marriage. We terminated our relationship in 2002 and it is now more than 15 years since

we divorced, but she is stalking me while threatening to ruin my new marriage. She threatened to stop my wedding, yet we officially annulled our wedding at the High Court. When I was about to wed my new wife she sent threatening messages through my friend to the effect that she was coming to stop the wedding.

“I am the one staying with our 19-year-old child, but she is badly influencing him. She is influencing my son to leave my house,” he said.

Mandisekwe disputed everything and told the court that she only visited her ex-husband to see her child.

“Whenever I visit them I don’t act in any violent manner. I never threatened to stop his wedding, but I was investigating his friend,” she said.

Mrs Chigodora granted the order in favour of Nyamangodo and ordered Mandisekwe to visit his ex-husband for the purposes of seeing her child only.
