A HONDE Valley man was on Monday arraigned before the courts for allegedly shooting his younger brother and niece with an arrow. Douglas Kanjanda (75) pleaded not guilty to domestic violence when he appeared before Mrs Sekai Chiundura.

It is alleged that on January 13 at Mutsaka Village, Kanjanda – for unknown reasons – took a bow and arrow and shot his younger brother Offard Kanjanda (66).

“Kanjanda went on to attack Offard’s daughter, Abigail Kanjanda, with an axe handle and he hit her once on the head. He then shot her with the arrow,” said prosecutor Mr Karombe.

He was remanded to January 22.
