Man smears faeces on sister

Fungai Jachi Court Reporter
A 53-Year-Old man smeared his faeces on his sister after she brought a prophet to cleanse their family of evil spirits, the court heard yesterday. Martin Makumana appeared before Mbare magistrate Ms Kudzai Zihove charged with domestic violence.

He admitted to the charges saying his sister had offended him by unlawfully entering his room and taking his property.

“She invited a prophet into our home and they took my traditional tools I use to speak to my ancestors. I got angry and smeared my urine and faeces on her,” he said.

The prosecutor Mr Percy Mugauri told the court that on June 29 Makumana had a misunderstanding with his sister Cecilia over their parents’ house.

The court heard that when the argument heated up, Makumana smeared his faeces and urine all over his sister’s body.

The matter was reported to the police leading to Makumana’s arrest.

However, the matter was withdrawn before plea.

Cecilia told the court that she wished to withdraw the matter as she had forgiven her brother.

“He is not mentally stable and I reported him out of anger,” she said.
