A 26-year-old man was yesterday stabbed to death by another man, who had hooked a sex worker, following a misunderstanding in the Avenues area of Harare.
Panashe Nyamurowa’s body was found in a pool of blood at the corner of Samora Machel Avenue and 6th Street.
It followed a misunderstanding between a motorist and sex worker, Mitchelle Muranda (23), of Queensdale.
Mitchelle told some men, who hang around that part of the Avenues area, that her unnamed client had stolen her US$90.
Panashe was one of the gang members.
He was stabbed with an unidentified sharp object and died instantly.
According to witnesses, the unidentified attacker, who was driving a Mazda Duet (ACY 4313), with two passengers on board, hired Mitchelle for sex.
He booked room in the CBD at around 2.45am yesterday.
Mitchelle then claimed she was missing her cellphone in the room.
It was later found under a table.
The man drove Mitchelle back to Fife Avenue Shops where she informed Panashe that her client had stolen her money.
Panashe confronted the man and clung onto the door of his car from Fife Avenue to Samora Machel Avenue where he was stabbed to death by the motorist.
Harare provincial police deputy spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Faith Mapisa, confirmed the case saying investigations were in progress.
“Police are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a man found along Samora Machel Avenue.
“The body of the deceased was taken to Parirenyatwa Hospital mortuary and is awaiting a post-mortem,” said Ass-Insp Mapisa.
