A CHAKARI man was stabbed to death in a scuffle over a missing cellphone.
The man, only identified as Pipiro, died on the spot in a field near Tukouis Mine.
Mashonaland West acting provincial police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Ian Kohwera, said the incident occurred at around 9pm.
Asst Insp Kohwera said Pipiro was in a bar drinking beer with Archifold Mbano.
The two men left the bar to go home at around 9pm.
When they had walked for about 400 metres, four men from the bar caught up with them.
They accused Pipiro of stealing their cellphone.
The gang became violent, and sensing danger, Mbano fled, leaving Pipiro at their mercy.
He returned later and found Pipiro lying dead in a pool of blood.
Asst Insp Kohwera urged people to value life and resolve their differences amicably.
“We would like to appeal to members of the public, who might have information on the whereabouts of the four suspects, to report to any nearest police station,” he said.
