MAN STABBED TO DEATH OVER WOMAN

A HOPLEY man was yesterday stabbed to death in a fight over a woman.

Takudzwa Godwin Kavuru (20), and the suspected killer Passwell Chiwaura (20), were at Mutsvubvu Shopping Centre in Hopley Zone 5, drinking beer, at around midnight.

Passwell was reported to have confronted Takudzwa and accused him of stealing his girlfriend, and a fight ensued.

Passwell was said to have used a sharp object to stab Takudzwa in the stomach, just below the naval, leaving his intestines protruding.

He was rushed to Sally Mugabe Central Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, said Passwell was arrested and is facing a murder charge.

“Police arrested a Hopley man at the hospital where he had accompanied his victim for treatment. 

“The body of the now deceased is at Sally Mugabe Hospital Mortuary awaiting a post-mortem,” he said.
