Man stabs girlfriend over missing money

A MAN from Harare has appeared in court for allegedly stabbing his girlfriend’s hands, chest, and head after suspecting that she had stolen his money.

Elvis Chidzomba was not asked to plead when he appeared before Harare regional magistrate Mr Taurai Manuwere charged with attempted murder.

He was remanded in custody pending a bail application today.

The State led by Mr Anesu Chirenje alleged that on Tuesday, at around 6.30am, Nyasha Dwati visited her boyfriend at his house.

Chidzomba then accused Ms Dwati of stealing US$160 that he had kept in his cap, but she denied the allegations. 

Chidzomba, stabbed her several times on the head, hands, chest, and back, and she sustained injuries.
