A HARARE man opposed a protection order application at the Civil Court yesterday saying the applicant was having an affair with his wife.
Prominent Gunduse was dragged to court by his wife’s alleged lover, Maxwell Chingodza, who sought a protection order against him.
Magistrate Judith Taruvinga granted the protection order and warned Gunduse not to insult, harass or stalk Chingodza.
Chingodza told the court that Gunduse visits his house and workplace to insult him.
“Prominent has a habit of insulting me in front of my children.
“He comes to my workplace to insult and threaten to kill me,” he said.
Chingodza asked the court to protect him.
“I am asking the court to protect me and for Gunduse to be barred from visiting my house, workplace and stalking me,” he said.
In defence, Gunduse said Chingodza once had an affair with his wife.
“The issue is that Maxwell dated my wife and the matter was taken to the Mbare Magistrates’ Court.
“He even admitted that he was having an affair with my wife,” Gunduse said.
However, magistrate Taruvinga advised Gunduse not to take the law into his hands.
