A SAKUBVA man’s hot temper has landed him in soup following an attack on his wife after she had asked for some money to buy medication.

Shine Kumadzi (26) of Tenderere was charged with physically abusing his wife, Ms Nicholar Mutsetse (20) when he appeared before Mutare magistrate, Ms Prisca Manhibi recently.

He pleaded guilty and was ordered to perform 72 hours of community service.

Prosecuting, Mr Thom Nyatsuro said on January 18, the complainant asked her husband for US$2 to buy some painkillers at a nearby tuck-shop as she was not feeling well.

“When Kumadzi refused, his wife searched his pockets and this did not go down well with him. He flew into a rage and started assaulting her. The accused also strangled Ms Mutsetse and neighbours had to come to her rescue,” Mr Nyatsuro said.

A police report was made leading to Kumadzi’s arrest.

The complainant sustained injuries on the face and neck.
