Man stumbles upon human remains

POLICE in Gwanda have recovered human remains of an unidentified person that were found by a villager who was looking for his donkeys in Collen Bawn.

Matabeleland South provincial police spokesperson Chief Inspector Philisani Ndebele said the remains were discovered at River Block grazing area on Monday at around 10am.

He said investigations were underway to ascertain the identity of the remains.

“I can confirm that we recovered some human remains namely a skull and various bones of unknown parts at River Block grazing land in Collen Bawn area on Monday. The informant who is a villager from the area was looking for his donkeys at around 10am in a bushy area when he stumbled on human remains.

“He reported the matter to the police who attended the scene. The human remains were taken to the United Bulawayo Hospitals pending a post mortem.

“Investigations are underway and the identity of the person is not yet known,” he said.
