A MAN from Tsholotsho in Matabeleland North Province was left gasping for breath after he was allegedly thrashed with a sjambok and stabbed with an Okapi knife over a girlfriend.
While Vigilant Ncube (21) was standing with his lover Anele Ncube (16) at Chefunye business centre, Brighton Moyo (17) and his friend Bestboy Ncube (21) confronted him accusing him of snatching “their” lover.
A court heard Vigilant fumed at the pair and allegedly slapped Brighton on the face.
The situation spiralled out of control as Brighton and Bestboy manhandled Vigilant before they allegedly thrashed him several times with a sjambok.
Vigilant tried to run away but one of the pair tripped him before allegedly stabbing him with an okapi knife on the back.
After that the pair fled leaving Vigilant lying on the ground. A villager transported him to the hospital. The matter was reported to the police leading to the arrest of Brighton and his partner in crime.
