Man U profits

LONDON. — Manchester United have announced a record second quarter revenue of £122.9million. Things may not be going according to plan on the pitch, with United in seventh place in the Barclays English Premier League and out of both domestic cups, but off the field their commercial pull and global appeal remains as strong as ever. As well as the record quarterly revenue, United have announced that their income from sponsorship has increased by 39.4 per cent and their year-to-date adjusted net income is up 19.6 per cent. Commercial revenues of £42.3m are up 18.8 per cent for the quarter and 30 per cent for the year to date.

United’s coffers have been boosted by six new sponsorship deals activated during this period – Unilever, Hong Kong Jockey Club, Banif Bank, Fuji TV, SPOTV Korea and STC. — The Mirror.
