A Chipinge man has been hauled before the courts on allegations of sodomising five children aged between 10 and 13.

Panashe Muchato (30) of Takawiririra Compound, Greenfuel, under Chief Garahwa, was not asked to plead when he appeared before magistrate Mr Poterai Gwezhira facing five counts of aggravated indecent assault.

Mr Gwezhira remanded Muchato in custody to July 30 and advised him to approach the High Court for bail.

Mrs Sekai Maera prosecuted.

Mrs Maera said Muchato would invite the young boys and entice them with some goodies before sodomising them.

The alleged abuse took place during the period extending January 2018 to July 2019.

He would order the boys not to reveal the abuse to anyone.

The court heard that the man repeated the sexual attacks on the boys until one of the victims reported the case to the police.

The boys positively identified him.
