INFORMATION, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Dr Zhemu Soda this afternoon held an inaugural closed-door meeting with the new Broadcasting Authority of Zimbabwe (BAZ) Board of Directors.
Dr Soda told the board that Government had put its trust in the members to achieve set objectives in the next four years, through drawing up and implementing strategic plans in terms of the Public Entities Corporate Governance Act, which align with the National Development Strategy (NDS2).
“The primary mandate of the BAZ board is to provide strategic direction and leadership to the company, to enable the company to achieve its stated goals and objectives, which should be strategically aligned with the NDS 2,” Dr Soda said.
The new board, appointed by President Mnangagwa last Friday, will be chaired by Dr Caroline Makoni and deputised by Mr Cloud Nyamundanda.
Other board members include Ms Tendai Jennifer Mandizvidza, Mr Godfrey Mutobaya, Ms Magna Mudyiwa, Mr Vengai Rushwaya (Chief Serima) and Mr Prime Kufakunesu.
