THE man who claims that he is the son of the late Oliver Mtukudzi, Aaron Chaka, yesterday refused to shed any light on reports that he was barred from attending the festival held in honour of the legend over the weekend in Norton.
Social media has been awash with reports that Chaka went to Pakare Paye Arts Centre but was denied entry at the gate.
Images have been circulating showing a man, who looks like him, being barred from entering a gate at the festival.
However, in an interview with H-Metro yesterday, Chaka was not willing to address the subject.
“I was not part of the programme so that is why I was not a part of it, had I been invited I would have been a part of it,” he said.
“Ndandisina kupinda muprogramme dzacho, programme kana yarongwa ndisipo handingakwanise kupindira, but dai ndakaudzawo kuti taronga zvakati nezvakati, ndaienda.”
Chaka did not want to either confirm or deny that he was denied entry into the festival.
“Journalists have a tendency of just writing whatever they want, whether it’s true or not, so I cannot speak about this over the phone.
“Some of these things we should meet face-to-face and not over the phone because there are a lot of issues that happen behind the scenes zvinoda kuti titaure face-to-face.”
Previous commitments for face-to-face meetings with H-Metro have not been honoured by Chaka.
