Manage, pay your bills in a smart way with the EcoCash Bill Manager

Millions of EcoCash customers have been given an opportunity to efficiently manage their bills following the introduction of EcoCash Bill Manager, which optimises billing and revenue management processes.

The new and innovative service — accessible by dialling *151*100# on any type of phone, or via the web on pay.ecocash.co.zw — has simplified how EcoCash customers manage their bill payments to different service providers, directly from their mobile phones.

EcoCash chief operating officer Munyaradzi Nhamo recently said the mobile money platform’s Bill Manager, launched in early July, allows customers to make real-time, multicurrency (ZW$ or US$) bill payments, and also automatic monthly bill payments.

“We know that paying bills can be a frustrating part of the day, so we’re excited that customers now have a convenient, reliable and secure payment option within a system that is easy to navigate,” he said.

The EcoCash Bill Manager enables express payments, a service that permits customers to save regular service provider billing details, and empowers consumers to swiftly buy airtime, data bundles and check their account balances.

“The feedback we have received from our customers in the past few months since we launched EcoCash Bill Manager has been amazing. Most of our customers now enjoy the convenience of making real-time payments and getting instant updates on the status of their accounts,” said Mr Nhamo.

In addition, customers now have the privilege of setting recurring bill payments for auto-collection by the service or utility providers, straight from their mobile wallets, on a monthly basis.

EcoCash Bill Manager is also providing relief to many customers with busy schedules as they no longer have to miss a payment because EcoCash Bill Manager automatically fetches the bill from the service provider and presents it to the customer for payment authorisation. All customers simply need to do is authorise the payment.

Some of the billers on the EcoCash Bill Manager include Zesa prepaid tokens, Harare City Council, Edgars, Zinwa prepaid tokens, Liquid Home, First Mutual Health, Jet Store, Bulawayo City, Council, Econet post-paid, PowerLive, Celfre Energy, CIMAS, Doves, Nyaradzo, Fidelity Life Assurance and FBC Microplan Services, among others.

Mr Nhamo said EcoCash Bill Manager is putting power into the customers’ hands as they now have the convenience and flexibility to make one-time payments, or to automatically schedule mandates for recurring payments to their utility or service provider.

“EcoCash Bill Manager has eased the operational hassles of bill collections and their attendant cost overheads to our partners. With this exciting service we have brought a new function to our ecosystem that enhances customers’ user experience, while improving revenue collections for companies,” added Mr Nhamo.

Customers who use the EcoCash Bill Manager online will get an instant email notification, with proof of payment, once they pay their bills. They will also be able to access and download EcoCash statements on demand.

EcoCash, the country’s leading mobile money platform and a subsidiary of the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange-listed EcoCash Holdings Zimbabwe Limited, is driving financial inclusion by simplifying the user experience and by broadening access to financial services in a country where more than 60 percent of the adult population had no bank accounts.
