It never rains but pours for Nkayi-based Folklore musician Sikhosana Buhlungu, after his musical manager Velempini Ndlovu has dumped him, barely five months working together.
Ndlovu is the second manager to disown Buhlungu in a space of a year, after the Dlala Ntethe singer parted ways with former Manager Madlela Sikhobokhobo last year in August, in a nasty fracas that involved the exchange of harsh words.
In a statement, Ndlovu confirmed that he no longer works with Buhlungu.
“I wish to formally announce that I am no longer the musical manager of Sikhosana Buhlungu. This decision takes effect immediately.
“I will not be making any further comments, clarifications, or engagements regarding this matter. I kindly request that my privacy, and that of all parties involved, be respected. I wish Sikhosana Buhlungu well in his future endeavours,” said Ndlovu.
Sources close to Buhlungu revealed that the Matabeleland North’s internet sensation, is a difficult character to work with, something that those close to his career including former managers, are concerned about.
Despite their separation, Ndlovu’s works in reviving Buhlungu’s career are hailed. He managed to stabilise the singer’s ship which was almost capsizing.
Under his guidance, Buhlungu managed to make a comeback in the music scene, collaborating with Black Diva on the song December, which was an instant hit during the festive season.
