A manager’s son was on Sunday arrested for raping an ailing employee.
Takunda Zvimba, 18, was reported to have visited an ailing employee aged 19 at her house and raped her once without protection.
Harare provincial police spokesperson Inspector Luckmore Chakanza confirmed the case.
“Police arrested a man from Good Hope for raping his workmate,” said Insp Chakanza.
“The complainant is employed as a cook, whilst accused is a general hand.
“Circumstances are that on April 2, 2025 around 6am the complainant proceeded to work but was not feeling well.
“On the same day around 5pm, her supervisor noticed that complainant was not well and advised her to go home early and rest.
“She was accompanied home by her brother and the accused person.
“The two left after she had taken medicine and fell asleep.
“The accused came back on his own and gained entry into the house through an unlocked main door.
“He awakened the complainant and asked her to have sexual intercourse with him, but complainant refused.
“The accused person came back again for the second time and gained entry trough the same door and proceeded into complainant ‘s bedroom.
“The accused awakened complainant and began to undress her, she fought back, was overpowered and raped.
“The matter came to light on April 12, 2025, when the complainant advised her employer that she was afraid of losing her job because she was raped by the accused person since his mother is also a supervisor at their workplace.
“The complainant was escorted to Edith Clinic for medical examination,” said Insp Chakanza.
