Manchester United stand firm over De Gea deal

MANCHESTER UNITED insist that Sergio Ramos and David De Gea will not be playing together next season, according to reports.

Manchester Evening News report that the Red Devils are not giving up on their battle to bring Sergio Ramos to Old Trafford this summer.

Manchester United are reportedly remaining defiant in their demands that Real Madrid must allow Ramos to join Manchester United if the La Liga club want to sign David De Gea in the current transfer window.

The Spanish goalkeeper has long been linked with a move to replace Iker Casillas as the Los Blancos number one but his current club are playing hardball in negotiations.

Manchester United’s bid of £28.37 million for Ramos was rejected by Real Madrid, who are demanding £65 million for his services.

Real Madrid will have to lower their demands for Ramos if they want to secure a deal for De Gea or face waiting another season to bring De Gea back to Spain. — BBC Sport
