SABLES assistant coach Cyprian “Supa” Mandenge is optimistic that his charges will improve thanks to the arrival of experienced coach Liam Middleton in the Zimbabwe Rugby Union ranks.
Zimbabwe are preparing for the Windhoek Invitational Tri-series tournament. British national, Middleton, whose love affair with Zimbabwe Rugby has remained alive for years now, is now the ZRU technical director and his arrival has impressed Mandenge and the Sables.   “I am very happy that they have been responding positively to Middleton’s new ideas, they love learning new tactics and it is good they are getting them. “We have given them a break today and we are hoping to see them back on the field tomorrow and as they continue with their training,” said Mandege.

Liam has been part of Zimbabwe rugby structures in the past and brings a wealth of experience as well as a good understanding of the local game.

His last job was head coach of the Bristol Rugby Club and he holds the highest level of coaching qualification, the RFU Level 4 Certificate.
The Sables are expected to play against hosts Namibia in their first match before taking on Kenya.
