Mangombe reunites with DeMbare fans

THE last time Dynamos played in Bulawayo, DeMbare fans housed at the famous Mpilo End at Barbourfields Stadium sang, calling for the ouster of coach Genesis Mangombe.

This was after they had surrendered a two-goal lead to get a draw against Hwange back in March.

It was only the second game of the season and Dynamos had just lost their opening league game 2-1 to Highlanders and also lost 2-0 in the Castle Challenge Cup final to Ngezi Platinum.

Eight league games later, Mangombe is back at Barbourfields Stadium, the axe is still hovering over his head, but a victory against Chicken Inn away from home could be what he needs to once again endear himself to the DeMbare faithful.

Dynamos are on 11th position on the log standings with 10 points but can move up the standings if they are awarded their points from the abandoned match against Chegutu Pirates.

It will not be an easy game, but Dynamos fans are confident they can get a positive result against Chicken Inn.

Dynamos Bulawayo Chapter member, Blessing Marangwanda, says they will be rallying behind the team and the coach against Chicken Inn.

“Honestly speaking, we are not happy with the way we are playing. The team is winning against small teams that have just been promoted, we are not winning against big teams and when you want to win the league you have to beat the big guys. On Saturday , we face Chicken Inn and these are the teams we have to be winning against. Yes, the fans were not happy the last time the team played at BF but, you have to feel for the coach, looking at the environment he works in at Dynamos. He had players that he wanted in his team, but he got none of them. In this next game, the coach must know that we are behind him and the team,” said Marangwanda.

Also with the chapter, Stephen Mbirimi believes Mangombe is slowly finding the right formula for the team.

“We are confident, we will beat Chicken Inn. Our problem has been scoring goals and we seem to have found the correct formula to get the goals lately. I am confident that we will beat Chicken Inn,” said Mbirimi.

Another DeMbare fan Givemore Nyamandi said: “As we speak, we are already eight points behind the leaders, which is of great concern. What we need right now are results. We will go in our numbers to rally behind the team. The coach may be under pressure, but these are the games that win you the fans back” said Nyamandi.

Chicken Inn’s number one fan McCloud Moyo has vowed that there will be no party for Dynamos. “We will have to use the home advantage. l trust the team will win against Dynamos, especially considering we lost in our last game, we have to bounce back to winning ways,” said Moyo. — @innocentskizoe
