GENESIS MANGOMBE has warned his Dynamos charges to approach revived Manica Diamonds with calculated caution in their Castle Lager Premier Soccer League tie at Sakubva on Sunday.

Manica Diamonds look to have rediscovered themselves in a season that looked bleak following a very poor start to the 2026 season.

Their house was literally on fire with all sorts of problems on and off the field of play.

But their new owners have brought a fresh wave of belief in Patrick Mandizha’s dressing room.

Mandizha has watched with some relief as his team have gone unbeaten in their last four games.

Their new principals have since confirmed they are pouring money into the team which they now want to finish in the top four in a revised target

Manica Diamonds’ performances have of late been corresponding with that vision.

The Gem Boys’ resurgence has not escaped Mangombe’s attention.

And the Dynamos coach wants his players to fully concentrate on Sunday.

The Glamour Boys aren’t far off the pace with just four points separating them from leaders Hardrock who are on 28 points after 15 games.

Dynamos will be buoyed by the return of Ghanaian defender Christopher Netty, striker Jairos Kasondo and veteran midfielder Perfect Chikwende.

Netty, who had accumulated three yellow cards, was suspended from the previous match against Ngezi Platinum Stars in which the Glamour Boys handed the miners their first defeat this season.

On their part Kasondo and Chikwende were nursing injuries.

“Manica Diamonds are performing well and we need to take with us positive attitude there on Sunday,” said Mangombe.

“We are doing so well in terms of our training program and I’m happy that all those who had been nursing injuries are now back.

“We have very stiff competition ahead of the final selection to face Manica Diamonds.

“The good thing about the team now is that we have a rhythm, and our system is coming together.

“Everyone now understands the philosophy and what is expected of them on the field of play.

“I’m also happy that, in terms of results, we are posting very good results. I hope that when we go to Mutare, we will also come away with victory.”

Mangombe added: “Manica Diamonds are doing so well, but if you look at the statistics, they are not winning at home.

“Maybe they have three draws at home, one win away, and one more win. So yeah, it’s 50-50. If we go there and apply ourselves positively, surely we can win this game.

“And remember, Dynamos, when going away, also have a huge following. Some of them come as far as Chipinge, Chimanimani, and we also have supporters from Harare, Mutare, and Bulawayo.

“We have a huge following, maybe even better than the opponent’s. So we cannot complain of having a disadvantage playing away.”
