Manhunt after Gwanda shop break-in

POLICE in Matabeleland South are hunting for suspects who allegedly broke into a hardware and furniture shop in Gwanda, getting away with property worth thousands of dollars.

A reward of $1 000 is offered to anyone who will supply police with information that may lead to the arrest of the suspects and the recovery of a black 65-inch LED Flat Screen wheel driven television that was stolen among other things.

The robbery occurred between midnight of last Wednesday into Thursday morning at Oasis Hardware and Furniture Shop in Gwanda.

Matabeleland South police spokesperson Inspector Philisani Ndebele confirmed the break-in.

a�?I can confirm the break-in to a hardware and furniture shop by unidentified suspects who got away with electronic gadgets which include a large black television set which is wheel driven worth over $2 500. A number of other gadgets were stolen in the robbery.

a�?We are appealing to anyone who may have information on the suspects who committed the crime or may have seen the described television set to contact their nearest police station. We advise members of the public to be on the lookout for such perpetrators and be careful not to buy stolen property. A reward of $1 000 is offered to the person who will give information resulting in the arrest of the robbers,a�? he said.
